Scholarship
PFLAG Omaha is offering a scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Purpose of the scholarship:
- To recognize outstanding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered (LGBT) and allied
high school seniors
- To encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education for self-identified LGBT and
allied students
- To foster a positive image of the LGBT community
To be eligible for a PFLAG Omaha scholarship, applicants must be:
- Self-identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered (LGBT) or as an ally who
supports LGBT individuals or groups and supports equity for all
- A resident of the state of Nebraska or Iowa
- Applying to attend a post-secondary educational institution during the 2012-2013
academic year
- Interested in service to the LGBT community
Deadline & Terms of the Award:
- Scholarship amount: $1000.00
- Completed applications must be postmarked by April 1, 2012 and mailed to
PFLAG
Omaha

Omaha, NE 68139 - Scholarship winner will be selected by May 1, 2012. All applicants will receive
written communication by mail of the final selection. The scholarship recipient
will be announced publicly at the PFLAG meeting on May 10, 2012. Recipient is asked
to attend this meeting.
- Scholarship recipient must provide PFLAG Omaha with a copy of the acceptance letter
for the intended post-secondary institution they will be attending. The award will
be sent directly to this academic institution.
