Omaha’s First Annual Pride Walk – Saturday, Aug. 20

Omaha’s first annual Pride Walk benefiting GLBT-allied groups will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20, from First United Methodist Church, 7020 Cass St.
The course is 3.1-miles long, completely vehicle-free, gently-sloping and wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Collect pledges to help groups and to earn yourself fundraising incentives and prizes. The top prize is a $350 Wal-Mart Gift Card. Second prize is a $200 Target Gift Card.
Proceeds from pledges will be distributed as follows: 30 percent to the Rainbow Outreach Metro Omaha GLBT Center and 70 percent to the group selected by each walker from these nonprofit 501c(3) beneficiaries: Omaha PFLAG, Lincoln PFLAG, Proud Horizons youth group, GLSEN Omaha, ICON Foundation, Rainbow Outreach Metro Omaha GLBT Center and River City Mixed Chorus.
