A Cappella Drag Quartet – March 22, Lied Center, Lincoln
The Kinseys is an A Cappella Drag Quartet who will be performing at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, 301 N 12th, Lincoln. The Kinseys jump-started their career in Lincoln with many fabulous shows at the Q. When: Tuesday, March 22. Time: 7:30 p.m. Price: Free to UNL students with ID, $10.00 for general public. ICONS: The Lesbian and Gay History of the World - March 24 and 25
Rainbow Celebrations will present a one-man musical comedy written and performed by Jade Esteban Estrada at 8 p.m. on March 24, 25 and 26 at the Millennium Theater, 601 S. 16th St.
The show carries the title, ICONS: the lesbian and gay history of the world. Estrada portrays six characters in the March 24 and 25 shows. He portrays six different characters in the March 26 show. All 12 characters are described as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender icons, “some known and some not so known.”
Estrada was a headline entertainer during the 2004 Nebraska Pride celebration.
The shows are a benefit for Nebraska Pride’s 20th anniversary celebration in June. Rainbow Celebrations sponsors the annual Pride event.
The March 24 show includes a champagne reception. Those attending on March 26 are invited to stay afterwards for food, drinks and autographed photos.

Amy Goodman - Omaha, April 9
Award-winning journalist Amy Goodman will speak on Saturday, April 9, at the second Omaha Peace and Justice Expo.
The event will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lewis and Clark Middle School, 6901 Burt St. Goodman will speak at 1 p.m. on “Independent Media in a Time of War.”
No pre-registration is required. A $5 donation is suggested for admission. Omaha PFLAG is among the sponsors and will display literature at the event. Three hundred people attended the first Expo last May.
Goodman is executive producer and host of Democracy Now!, a national, listener-sponsored public radio and TV news hour.
She won the Robert F. Kennedy Prize for International Reporting and other awards for a radio documentary she co-produced entitled Massacre: The Story of East Timor. She has reported from Israel, Cuba, Mexico, Peru and Haiti. She is the author of the book, “The Exception to the Rulers.”
In addition to Amy Goodman’s talk, the Expo will feature 20 workshops conducted by local peace and justice organizations.
Eric Hinman concert - Omaha, April 24
Openly gay musician Eric Himan will visit Omaha and give a free show at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, at Borders, 7201 Dodge St.
Eric, who has focused on being a positive role model for gay youth, is featured in the March edition of Out Magazine. He has received coverage in Instinct, The Advocate and Genre Magazines.
